2011 RB Community Planning Board Committees and other Assignments

Each member of the Planning Board is required to be an active member in one or more of the stated committees. Residents are encouraged to participate. One can do so by attending the meetings and indicating an interest.

Regional Issues: Peter Tereschuck; generally meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7PM @ the SW&T Club. Addresses issues outside of Rancho Bernardo that may have an affect on us (e.g.Lake Hodges; Airport; High Speed Rail) and issues that are beyond the scope of any one committee (e.g; Community Plan and City General Plan)

Development Review: John Woods (CCVHjwoods@aol.com); generally meets on the first Tuesday of the month @ 5:30PM at the SW&TClub (prior to Regional Issues) Reviews and comments upon any projects that may be submitted to the city for development or significant modification (e.g.the RB Inn’s ballroom).

Traffic: Dick Katz (rkatz1966@sbcglobal.net) ; Generally meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 7PM @San Diego National Bank. Examines and comments upon citizen concerns about traffic flow and other related issues (e.g; recommends stop signs, signals, parking restrictions) This is a joint committee with the Community Council and is co-chaired by Dick Katz.

Publicity & Election Committee: Eugenia Contratto; Generally meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm @SW&TClub. Coordinates and ensures effective publicity of the board and its committees activities and works with the Community and Recreation Councils in conducting annual RB elections.

The Board’s Administrative Committee, consisting of all Board Officers and the Committee Chairs, meets on the Monday ten days prior to the Board Meeting at the Bernardo Heights Community Center to set the agenda. The Vice-Chair of the Board chairs the committee. Residents and board members are welcome to participate. The Administrative Committee meeting schedule for 2011 is as follows:

Liaison assignments are made to facilitate effective communication with outside groups. The San Dieguito River Park, San Pasqual/Lake Hodges Planning Board, Chamber of Commerce, COMPACT, SANDAG, Community Planners’ Committee, and others have board appointees when feasible. The Board also appoints representatives for Commercial, Industrial, and Development interests.
